The International French Language Poetry Contest “Poésie en Liberté” (Poetry in Freedom) launches its 28th edition, an initiative that for nearly three decades has provided a unique platform for expression to young French speakers worldwide. Open to all young people aged 15 to 25, this new session invites participants to submit their work until May 6, 2026, free of charge, via the dedicated website www.poesie-en-liberte.fr.
True to its name, “Poésie en Liberté” places creative freedom and authenticity at the forefront. Participants can explore the open theme prize, which imposes no thematic constraints, allowing pure imagination and emotion to flow freely.
This year, the contest reinforces its connection to contemporary issues by offering five thematic prizes sponsored by inspiring figures:
Since its creation, “Poésie en Liberté” has brought together thousands of young people from all walks of life, making this contest much more than a simple literary exercise: a true laboratory of ideas, emotions, and engagement. The free registration and simple online process ensure maximum accessibility, allowing every voice, regardless of origin, to be heard.
As it approaches its 30th year, the contest continues to evolve with the times, integrating strong societal themes and involving committed public figures. It remains an essential meeting point for young Francophone poetry, offering not only visibility to emerging talents but also an opportunity to reflect, bear witness, and build bridges between generations and cultures.
Young poets have until May 6, 2026 to submit their texts and take part in this human and literary adventure. Whether the inspiration is intimate, activist, dreamlike, or critical, all voices are welcome to write, together, the poetic pages of tomorrow.
