CreARTivity Magazine

AI Policy

Effective October 2026  ·  creartivitymagazine.com

CreARTivity Magazine uses artificial intelligence tools in parts of its work. This page explains where we use them, where we do not, and how a person stays responsible for everything we publish.

01 Our principle

Every piece published on CreARTivity is the responsibility of a named editor. AI tools help us work faster and in more languages, but no article, translation, image or caption reaches readers without a person reading it, checking it and approving it.

02 Where we use AI

Translation. CreARTivity publishes in English, French, Spanish and Haitian Creole. We use machine translation to produce first drafts of translated articles, which an editor fluent in the language then reviews and corrects. The live translation of pages into further languages through our site translation tool is automatic and is not reviewed line by line; where the original and a machine translation differ, the original language version is the reference.

Drafting and editing assistance. Editors may use AI tools to suggest structure, tighten wording, check grammar or propose headlines, summaries and metadata. The editor decides what to keep, and remains the author of the final text.

Research. AI tools may help us find background material and sources. Facts are checked against primary or reputable sources before publication. An AI tool is never cited as a source.

Images. Some illustrations on the site are created with AI. Each one carries the caption “Image created with AI for CreARTivity Magazine.” AI images are used for illustration only, never to depict real people, real events or real artworks as if they were photographs or reproductions.

03 Where we do not use AI

We do not use AI to invent quotes, interviews, sources or reviews. Interviews and portraits are conducted with real people, and their words are reproduced from the conversation. We do not use AI to imitate the style or identity of a named living artist, and we do not present AI images as the work of any artist.

When an article discusses a specific artwork, we show the work itself, using images from museum open access collections that are in the public domain, or images supplied by the artist or institution with permission.

04 Contributors and submissions

Writers who contribute to CreARTivity, including guest authors and Podium authors, must tell us if any part of their submission was produced with AI tools. We may decline work that is substantially generated by AI. We do not use submitted work to train AI models, and we do not give it to anyone else for that purpose.

05 Mistakes

AI tools make errors, and so do people. If you find an error in any of our content, including a translation or a caption, please tell us. We correct it under our Correction Policy.

06 Changes to this policy

AI tools change quickly and so will our use of them. We review this policy at least once a year and date each revision at the top of the page.
