Arts en Brief
Running August 7 to 30, the Edinburgh International Festival is the Fringe’s more formal counterpart, bringing leading orchestras, opera houses, dance companies, and theater-makers to the city’s major concert halls and theaters. Now in its eighth decade, it presents opera, classical music, dance, and theater of the highest order, and this year its three weeks coincide with the Royal Scottish Academy’s bicentenary, one more reason Edinburgh becomes the most concentrated arts environment in the world each August.
